About Me
My love for movement in community began early through dance, basketball, competitive cheer, and track. I had dreams of playing college basketball, but a major ACL reconstruction during my senior year of high school changed everything. The injury left me not only physically limited, but also deeply disconnected from my body. Soon after began a life long struggle with body image, self esteem, disordered eating, unsure of how to navigate life in a body that suddenly felt unfamiliar.
Throughout college, I stayed active with running, biking, and lifting, but nothing truly filled the space that team sports had held in my life. That changed in 2016 when I discovered group barre classes at The Dailey Method in Birmingham. For the first time in years, I felt reconnected to myself through alignment-based, somatic, and empowering movement. After two years as a student, I completed the studio’s training program and became a certified barre instructor.
As my love for teaching grew, I began looking for something to complement barre and help with my own injury recovery. That’s when I found yoga. What started as a supportive addition to my movement routine quickly became a foundation to support my mental health. I earned my 200-hour RYT certification with Citizen Yoga in early 2021 and joined their teaching team shortly after.
During the beginning of the pandemic, I taught in Detroit at Live Cycle Delight, offering both public, on-demand, and virtual classes. In a time filled with isolation and uncertainty, my goal was to create moments of normalcy, connection, and comfort through shared movement. That experience deepened my belief that moving together isn’t just physical, it’s mental and emotional support. It’s a lifeline.
My teaching is fueled by the power of connection. I believe wholeheartedly that movement in community is mental health. It creates space for people to feel seen, supported, and less alone. It’s what keeps me showing up again and again to offer public classes.
With a foundation in both barre and yoga, I guide students in building strength, mobility, and resilience, while honoring the intelligence of their own bodies. My passion for anatomy and functional movement shines through in classes that are methodical, expressive, and deeply inclusive. You’ll find breathwork, somatic movement, strength training, mobility work, barre, and restorative yoga woven throughout my offerings, all aimed at helping regulate the nervous system and bring you back to yourself.
At the heart of my teaching is a simple truth: movement is for every body. And healing, strength, and joy are found through connection to self, to breath, and to one another.
